PIGMENTATION

Pigmentation Treatment

Pigmentation can occur at any age and skin type but mostly people aim for flawless healthy-looking skin. At Akiya Aesthetics, Dr Rupika Singh offers the most effective treatments for pigmentation in Ghaziabad & Delhi which is tailored to meet your skin’s demand. Pigmentation can occur on face, underarms, sun-exposed body parts and even at times sun-protected areas. Our skin consists of melanocyte cells that create melanin. Melanin gives colour to our skin. Whenever there is excess melanin production, it results in hyper pigmented skin. There are various reasons or triggering factors which can lead to hyperpigmentation such as genetics, sun-damage, hormonal imbalance, certain medications e.g., minocycline and environmental factors. The most common type of hyperpigmentation are Melasma, freckles (sun spots), age spots, post acne pigmentation or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (e.g post fungal infection). At Akiya Aesthetics we provide the best treatment for pigmentation using world-class technologies which are FDA cleared. The treatments protocols formulated by Dr Rupika Singh are safe for all skin type with assured, long-lasting results when compared to other centres in Ghaziabad.

Understand the diverse forms of hyper pigmentation

Once you understand the different kinds of pigmentation, you can decide the strategy and treatment you would like to undergo. You can also decide upon the lifestyle modifications you would like to make to prevent pigmentation instead of treat it later.
1. Hormonal imbalance can lead to pigmentation such as during pregnancy, post pregnancy, post-menopausal, thyroids dysfunction or hormonal therapy.
2. Another kind of pigmentation is named as liver spots or age spots. They are common in older age groups and can be triggered by sun-exposure.
3. Post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation is typically triggered because of infection, skin injury, burns or acne. At times it could also be due to side-effect of skin treatments done at other centres.

How does pigmentation develop?

Our skin consists of melanocyte cells that create melanin. Melanin gives colour to our skin. Whenever there is excess melanin production, it results in hyper pigmented skin. There are various reasons or triggering factors which can lead to hyperpigmentation such as genetics, sun-damage, hormonal imbalance, certain medications e.g minocycline and environmental factors.

Does hyperpigmentation disappear naturally?

Unfortunately, this is not a yes-or-no problem. Some forms of hyperpigmentation, like post- inflammatory hyperpigmentation due to acne or trauma, might disappear or fade over time. Hyperpigmentation triggered by elongated sun exposure likely deteriorates with time if proper sun protective measures are not adapted.

How can I prevent hyperpigmentation?

The first step to prevent hyperpigmentation is guarding the skin from causative factors. You should use suitable sun protective measures like sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, hats and long sleeves to help protect against UV exposure. Once you start following sun protective measures , consult your dermatologist for a skincare programme which can treat the pigmentation that has already occurred.

Can all pigmentation be cured?

At Akiya Aesthetics by Dr Rupika Singh our advanced laser technologies help to treat the most stubborn and deeper pigmentations also.

Akiya Aesthetics in Ghaziabad & Delhi specialises in skin pigmentation treatments. Our professional doctors like Dr. Rupika Singh have investigated well into the reasons and treatments that are accessible for skin related syndromes.
