Keloids

Keloids

Keloids appear as raised scars usually found where the skin has healed post an injury and can grow bigger than the injury itself. Any cause of a scar can be a cause of a keloid too such as burns, cuts, severe acne. They also appear due to body piercing, a tattoo, or surgery. They remain and grow for a long period of time.

Keloids usually:

  • Appear and grow slowly
  • Look like a raised pink, red, or purple scar.
  • They can be painful, tender, or cause itching.
  • They can appear on any part of the body.
