Keloids
Keloids appear as raised scars usually found where the skin has healed post an injury and can grow bigger than the injury itself. Any cause of a scar can be a cause of a keloid too such as burns, cuts, severe acne. They also appear due to body piercing, a tattoo, or surgery. They remain and grow for a long period of time.
Keloids usually:
- Appear and grow slowly
- Look like a raised pink, red, or purple scar.
- They can be painful, tender, or cause itching.
- They can appear on any part of the body.


Keloids can be caused due to the following:
Blacks, Latinos, and Asians are more prone to keloids. Pregnancy can aggravate keloid formation too. So do genetic predispositions.
